Many golf clubs claim to have tremendous technical innovations, however with the TaylorMade R7 Driver this truly is the case. The R7 SuperQuad incorporates the Taylormade Launch Control (TLC) technology. This driver and its technological advances offers golfers six launch conditions as opposed to one.
This is done by adding or removing weights in the TLC ports. There are four ports and four weights (two 12-gram weights and two 1-gram weights) that can be inserted and removed again and again. What these weights do is shift the center of gravity toward the front, back, heel or toe of the club depending on your preferences.
Some players like the versatility of the club. If their swing is off a little they can make an adjustment to the club which could help their swing. While others find the weights bothersome. For these golfers it is just something else for them to think about.
I personally think this driver is great. I have been using it for close to a year now. I got it to replace my old Cleveland launcher and I am never going back. It has added over 30 yards to my drives and they go straighter and where I want them to. I am now hitting it about 270 yards and occasionally can get close to 300 when I hit it right on. I have fooled around with the weights a little but now use them in the neutral settings.
Like with all golf clubs you should test it out for yourself before purchasing.
